Dance REVolution Crews are Performing at the Fair!

Both the Sr. and Jr. Crews will be tearing up the Tanana Fair Usibelli stage again this year.  Last year we danced till shoes either flew off or broke to pieces and we plan on going just as hard this year!  We are performing some of our newer pieces and some classic fun ones as well.   Show is on Thursday the 11th from 6-7  Come enjoy the show and cheer us on!!

Also this year we have been asked to be apart of Aerial View’s Circus and Dance shows at the Fair as well!  We’ll be performing a couple numbers on Tuesday the 9th 6-7 and on Sunday the 14th from 3-4 in the big White Big Top Tent in the Fair.   There will be Aerial Acrobatics, Dance, Poi, Stilts, and on Sunday we’ll have Pole Fitness Athletes as well!  Going to be an awesome show!!!

Way overdue pictures of the Choreographer’s Showcase

The Show was fantastic!  A great combination of dancers and choreographers, plus fantastic stage hands!  Thank you Fairbanksans for two sold out shows!  Here are some of the pictures captured that night.

Jr. Hip Hop Restarts Jan. 20th!

Hope everyone has had an awesome and relaxing Holiday season!

Jr. hip hop class will restart on the 20th of January as the floor at the Dance Hall is going through maintenance.

I’ve got a lot planned for this next semester of dance!!  We’ll be working on our spins: standing, sitting, knee, heel, toe, and more! Plus practice our ticking waves and practice bringing them through the body in different patterns.

We’ve also got many performance opportunities coming up!  Students that have the choreo down and want to perform will have many chances throughout the spring to show their stuff on stage or on snow in the case of the Ice park performance in March.

Looking forward to seeing everybody again along with some new faces!

Jr. Hip Hop in Full Swing!

We’ve been having an awesome time in Jr. Hip Hop Class!

Students have learned a routine to a dubstep song where we focus on isolations and being strong in our movements and stops.

Right now we’re putting together a routine to a medley of Michael Jackson songs.  Full of classic MJ moves and a fun section where students will freestyle and show some of their favorite and best moves.

I love how my students aren’t afraid to freestyle and dance how they want to dance!

We’ll be performing at Dance REVolution Crew’s Choreographer Showcase on Feb 27th. at DTF’s Theatre.

Fantastic Time at the Nuvo Dance Convention!!

Nuvo’s second year visiting us in Anchorage, Alaska.  Even with a snow storm happening in Fairbanks some of the D REV Crew and some Jr’s made it down to enjoy the workshop classes in Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, and Tap.  We all had our minds blown and our butt’s kicked but so worth it.  Many of us are planning to go again next year!  We didn’t have anybody in the competition this year, but I’m hopeful by next year more of my students will go and we’ll have a dance routine ready for performing!  Course you don’t have to compete to win something as Jr. REV Dancer Sariah showed by winning a scholarship to Dance-apalooza in California this next summer!
